Muffin Balls!

Our three year old now associates the glorious green siren that dots America's highways with the infamous Pink Birthday Cake Pop.  He LIVES for cake pops!  It's can be a great motivational tool.

Some times, however, we do like to eat healthy things... About once a week I aim to make these boring, yet healthy whole wheat muffins, which some how my entire family loves.

One weekend, during a family shopping day at TJMaxx, we found a cake pop baking tin & snatched it, thinking we might get ambitious and actually make cake pops for our little fanatic.  While that has yet to happen, I found an even better use for the pan.

Muffin Balls!

Like I said, it's just a simple, whole wheat muffin recipe, but the disappear even faster than before, and it's a great portion size for little hands who very seldom have time to stop wrecking trains and flying airplanes to sit down and eat.

My newest addiction

I chose to start this blog by posting about my newest current obsession.
Those who know me, know that I LOVE hats.  I wear hats as often as I can, and my children, and my husband also rarely leave the house with out a hat.  My son even sleeps in his hat, but, let's face it, who can resist the power of Thomas the Tank Engine?

When it came to finding a summer hat for my daughter I ran into a bit of a problem this year - she thinks it's great fun to remove hats as soon as they land on her head.  Once I discovered that the search began to find a  cute, comfy, summer hat that I could tie to her head.  Do you know how impossible it is to find that?!?
We found one adorable one from Baby Gap, - of course, I can't find a photo of her in the hat to share right now -  but alas, one hat really is not enough.  I gave up on looking for hats and started looking for hat patterns.  I scoured Etsy.com and found Lea & Lars shop and knew this was it.  Simple, cute and totally customize-able.  What I didn't know is how easy it would be!  And I am not a professional sewer!  Two hours later, give or take, a super cute, super functional hat!
If it weren't past midnight, and my two little people weren't taking turns waking up at three for various, inexplicable reasons, I would whip out some more fabric and make another, and another, and another.

Here, finally, is the pretty little hat on our pretty little girl!
